Glaucoma

Glaucoma, affecting about 4% of the population over 40 years of age, is an asymptomatic, progressive and irreversible disease which leads to blindness unless adequate treatment is provided early on. Static measurements currently performed by ophthalmologists during office hours do not permit widespread and cost-effective monitoring of dynamic intra-ocular pressure changes responsible for retina damage.

SENSIMED Triggerfish® — Continuous IOP Monitoring

Sensimed will not only revolutionize the way glaucoma is diagnosed and treatment is performed, but will also make a contribution to a deeper understanding of its progression. A better understanding of how pressure fluctuates during night and day in a patient suffering from glaucoma will lead, for the first time, to more efficient and personalized drug delivery. Furthermore it will enable practitioners to adapt treatment to changing condition. The break-through potential of the solution is enormous and confirmed by the eagerness of our key opinion leaders. With one of three glaucoma patient undiagnosed and one of three under inadequate treatment, we believe the SENSIMED Triggerfish® will be a great contribution to help ophthalmologists diagnose and treat their glaucoma patients.
